For 6th-12th grades, we strive to help students be more deeply connected to God and each other. Through prayer and Bible study students experience God together in community. Connection Groups are a place for students to ask questions about the Bible, life, and to find support through prayer and God’s Word for their needs. We meet in the Student Life Center.

Friday, February 25 - Sunday, February 27
For 6th - 12th grade, Big Weekend is a discipleship weekend. It is a retreat where small groups meet for studies in discipleship and we attend three worship services. The small group times are led by leaders in our church, with the goal of beginning or strengthening the ongoing process of discipleship in each student's life.

This year the theme of Big Weekend is Unshakable. This year's theme is inspired by Psalm 125:1, "Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever."

Christians are in a battle spiritually. Although this battle is nothing new, we feel the effects and pressures of our culture each day. As Christians we desire to be faithful witnesses in this battle and desire to be unshakable amid a chaotic world.

Our keynote speaker will be Brooks Deatherage and Shane Treagresser will be leading us in worship music. This year, everything will be hosted here at Edmond's First Baptist, and please note that we are having host homes this year. This means that your student will stay at a church member's home each night. If you are not comfortable with your student staying the night, then they are welcome to be picked up by a parent and then brought back each day. The weekend will end Sunday morning as we come together to reflect on the impact of the weekend a d commit to the decisions made.

Students have the choice to worship in the Worship Center or belong to a Connections Group in the Student Life Center at either 9:30 AM or 11:00 AM.

Students are encouraged to participate in both Worship and Connection Groups. Connection groups start as a large group then break out into smaller groups based on grade and gender to allow for deeper conversations and spiritual growth.
