Date Night @ EFBC!

Has it been a while since you've been on a date with your spouse? That is, without the kids . . . If so, don't worry! EFBC is here to help!

This Friday, February 10, is DATE NIGHT for all Young Adults! From 6:15 PM to 9:15 AM, EFBC will provide childcare for birth thru fifth grade for the low price of $2.00 per child with a maximum of $10.00 per family. To participate you must register and prepay in your Connection Group TODAY, February 5.

If you are new to EFBC or have not yet found a permanent Connection Group (Sunday School), please ask for help in finding a Connection Group at one of EFBC's Welcome Center’s in the Foyer. The hosts and hostesses will help you connect with a group so that you can enjoy a date this Friday night.

Young Adults

EFBC is for young married adults!

If you are married and in your 20s, 30s, or 40s, join the young adult ministry and enjoy the groups, events, and studies at EFBC.

Together we are raising our families in an environment that fosters passion for God and compassion for people.

Young Adult Connection Groups

Young Adults get and stay connected with each other in connection groups.

These groups connect with each other weekly through prayer and Bible study every Sunday morning. Monthly functions, either for the whole family or with childcare provided, are a regular part of group-life for the young adults at EFBC. And every connection group has a prayer ministry that helps keep young adults connected every day of the week. So, daily, weekly and monthly EFBC’s young adult connection groups are getting and keeping our young married couples connected with each other.

Young Adult Events

Each season the Young Adult Ministry hosts an event for all the young married couples at EFBC.

The Family Road Trip

One favorite is the spring break family road trip, which is generally to a destination that provides recreation (like skiing, hiking and swimming) for all ages. About our most recent family road trip to Estes Park, Colorado, young adults made these comments:

“It was everything I wanted and more”

"I LOVED the way our cabin was set up. Our little ones could roam & play and we didn’t have to worry about them getting into too much havoc . . .
It was fabulous and I’m so thrilled we went!”

“I cannot say enough great things. The trip was a big positive spot in my life personally.”

“My husband was Saved!”

Another highpoint of the year for the young adults is our annual Marriage Retreat. This event, which usually stays close to the metro area, provides a valuable get-away for couples to connect with each other again and invest in their marriage. Our most recent retreat, Holy Hilarious Matrimony, featured Christian Psychologist and funny-man, Dr. Charles Lowery. About the retreat young adults said:

“I was SO impressed at how organized and well-done the retreat was put together,
from the very beginning! When it was initially presented,
I honestly thought it was a state-wide retreat!
From the professional brochure to the well-renowned speaker, you had me fooled!”

“Help with childcare is very . . . helpful. I appreciate the Young Adult Ministry’s efforts to provide childcare.  I also appreciate the lighthearted atmosphere of the ministry;
I think it makes it more attractive to young couples,
and it makes fellowship and study a joy-not a burden. Keep it up!”

Possibly, the most-loved events of them all may be the Date Nights offered by the Young Adult Ministry. Twice each year, in the winter and summer, EFBC hosts a date night for all young married couples with childcare provided at no cost. These events, which may feature dating tips, challenges or suggestions, are a huge attraction for the couples at EFBC.

Mid-Week for Young Adults

Each Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM, EFBC’s young adults come together for worship and Bible teaching. Meeting in the Worship Center, Kevin Pruitt leads this gathering designed for younger adults.

At times Mid-Week for Young Adults studies through a book such as Radical by David Platt. After concluding this study in the Fall of 2010, many of EFBC’s young adults took the radical challenge for 2011. This five-part challenge urged young adults to make massive commitments to take back their faith from the American dream by praying, reading, giving and going, together.

EFBC’s Young Adult Ministry is more than just groups, events and studies though. It’s a community of young married adults with passion for God and compassion for people.

Kevin Pruitt, EFBC’s Young Adult Pastor, serves as the leader of this ministry and is available for pastoral counseling and support for any young adult whether he or she is currently part of EFBC or not. You may contact Kevin at 405-341-0253 or EMAIL Kevin.
