Welcome Weekend 2016

August 17 | August 18 | August 19
Welcome Weekend at Edmond’s First Baptist Church is a great time of worship, fellowship, and fun. As the new school year approaches, we see a lot of new faces around the Student Ministry and see a lot of friends returning from family vacations so we have designed Welcome Weekend to bring us together as we kick off the new school year.

Don’t miss out on a great time of hanging out with friends and connecting to the church! We welcome all incoming 7th through 12th grade students to be a part of each day beginning on Wednesday, August 17, through Friday, August 19.

  • Wednesday, August 17
    Worship | The Gauntlet
    6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

The Gauntlet will be a night to get messy and play games like Acquire the Tire and Dodge-ball. Make sure you bring clothes you don’t mind getting dirty on this night.
  • Thursday, August 18
    Worship | The Hunt
    6:00 PM - 8:30 PM

The Hunt is a Scavenger Hunt around Edmond. Students will be put into groups, given some clues, and released to search Edmond along with an adult leader.
  • Friday, August 19
    Worship | Border Patrol
    7:00 PM - 11:30 PM

Do you like to Hide, do you like to seek, then Border Patrol is a game that you will love. Basically a game of team hide and go seek that is played in the dark. Bring your flashlights and get ready to have some fun.

Connection Groups

Strive to be deeply connected with God. Through Prayer and Bible Study EFBC’s Connection Groups (Sunday School) strive to be more deeply connected to God. In these smaller groups, prayer and Bible study become ways for all to experience God together as a community. This provides a way to ask questions about the Bible and find prayer support for life’s many needs. Experiencing God in community helps us be more deeply connected with God.

This is what we call our Wednesday nights. Based on on James 1:2-4 which is:

“2 Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 But endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.”
