Women's Ministry

One generation will declare your works to the next and will proclaim your mighty acts.
Psalm 145:4

efbcWOMEN'S Ministry

The women of Edmond's First Baptist Church are excited about what God is doing in our midst, anticipating His best as we see His hand moving, His Spirit leading, and His Son, Jesus, reaching out with open arms to those who seek Him. Bible Study Opportunities

Tuesday, August 22 | 6:30 PM - 8:45 PM | Room W103
"Gideon: Your Weakness, God’s Strength" by Priscilla Shirer

Led by Bible study leader, Barbara Dooley, you will be encouraged to recognize your weakness as the key that the Lord gives you to unlock the full experience of His strength in your life. Study guides are $15 each.

When we hear the name Gideon, most of us think about his 300 soldiers or a fleece spread beneath the evening sky. But Gideon's story is so much bigger than that. This is a story about God and His people - His love for them, as well as His strength operating in spite of, even through, their weakness.

Instead of ignoring, neglecting, or trying to escape your weaknesses, learn to see them as the gifts given specifically and strategically by God. If you've ever felt insufficient, ill-equipped, incompetent, or outnumbered, this study is for you.

Wednesday, August 30 | 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM | Room W103
TOPICS: Worthy of Praise, a study on Hymns

A new Wednesday evening TOPICS Bible Study class begins on August 30. Worthy of Praise, a study on Hymns: The Women’s Ministry is going to look at some of our timeless hymns and study the Scriptures that inspired them. You don’t have to be a singer to Praise the Lord!

Tuesday, September 12 | 6:30 PM - 8:45 PM | Becky Gourley's Home
"He Speaks to Me: Preparing to Hear from God" by Priscilla Shirer

Led by Bible study leader, April Pratt, in the home of Becky Gourley. When we approach God humbly and bow down before Him, we put ourselves in a position to hear from Him. Are you longing to hear God’s voice, but feeling disconnected? Study guides are $15 each.

God wants to speak directly to each of His beloved children, not to just a few “spiritual elite.” Priscilla Shirer looks at God’s call to Samuel and uncovers six characteristics essential for hearing from God:

  • A simple RELATIONSHIP, unfettered by sin or pride
  • A single-minded WORSHIP, focused on God and His glory
  • A set-apart HOLINESS, determined to live a life that honors Him
  • A still ATTENTIVENESS, willing to be silent before Him
  • A sold-out HUNGER, passionately pursuing God’s presence
  • A servant SPIRIT, submitted to God’s call

Pricilla's warmth and honesty, combined with a wealth of practical help, will inspire you to cultivate these traits in your own life. By doing so, you will prepare yourself to draw closer to Him and to hear His voice more clearly.

For more information, contact the Church Office which is available Monday - Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Fridays from 8:00 AM to noon at 405-341-0253.

Sunday Morning Prayer Time

efbcWOMEN invite you to join in a time of prayer every Sunday morning from 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM. This prayer time will be specifically for our church, our worship service, and our staff. We feel there is no better way to prepare our hearts for worship than prayer. Meet us in Conference Room M202 which is located on the second floor near the Light Tower behind the Worship Center.

Friendship International

Then join other ladies once a month as we fellowship together while using the simple talent of sewing fabric for use in ministry with boys, girls, and their families from across the state. If you can't sew or don't wish to sew, you can still participate in the ministry by donating fabric you may have on hand. LEARN MORE . . .
