Edmond's First Baptist Church Staff
At Edmond's First Baptist Church we are blessed with a staff of men and women who love the Lord, follow His teachings, and obey His voice.
R. Scott Pace, Ph.D.
Interim Pastor
I wanted to take the time to ‘thank you’ for your warm welcome and kind embrace of our family. Dnaa and I, along with Gracelyn, Tyler, and Tessa, have enjoyed our recent weeks with you and we are eagerly anticipating God’s blessings in the foreseeable future as we worship and serve Him together. As we continue to get acquainted I wanted to share even more of our heart and lives with you so that we can truly grow together as a family of faith! more . . .
Gary Ellis
Associate Pastor, Administration & Program
Gary’s goal as Associate Pastor of Administration and Program is to “help EFBC fulfill its God-given responsibility, ‘to love God and others through Jesus Christ.’” As a child he dreamed that he’d become a lawyer, but reports that he became aware of God's call to ministry when he was 14 years old. He says, “The secret of everything spiritual - salvation, growth, service, direction, victory, etc. - is the Lordship of Jesus Christ in the life of the believer and the church.” His entire ministry has been about knowing Jesus more and sharing with others the need for a personal relationship with Christ. more . . .
Jerry Miller
Associate Pastor, 50+ Ministries & Pastoral Care
Jerry's vision for 50+ Ministries and Pastoral Care is Reaching People, Teaching People, and Ministering to people in the name of Jesus Christ. His desire is to see 50+ adults grow into Christian maturity as they journey through life's challenges that often relate to this age. As a Senior in High School Jerry was called into the ministry of music at Falls Creek and has led worship for 30 years. But recently he has been challenged with this new Ministry of 50+ Minister and Pastoral Care. He always wants to be ready to tell others of the hope that lies within him and to meet people's needs through this new ministry of the church. more . . .
Wayne Bristow
Evangelism Coordinator
Wayne’s goals
are to be faithful and obedient to the Lord and to “finish well.” He
says that he is “most thankful that God’s grace was extended to me as
an 11-year-old boy during a West Texas revival meeting. If he could
share one sentence that he thinks has the potential to change someone’s
life forever, he would say, “Turn in repentance from sin toward God and
by faith, submit to Jesus as your Lord and Savior.” As a child, Wayne
dreamed that he would be an artist. And in a sense that is what he has
become. As a writer and evangelist, he paints word pictures for
people, allowing them to see what life is like without Christ while
showing them the beauty of real life in Him. more . . .
Keith Haygood
Associate Pastor, Minister of Music
Keith Haygood begins his ministry as Edmond's First Baptist Church Associate Pastor, Minister of Music. Keith comes to us from the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, where he served as Worship and Music Ministries Specialist, leading the state convention's music program for all ages throughout the state. He is a native of Oklahoma, an accomplished trumpet player, and has served as music minister at First Baptist Moore, Cherokee Hills Baptist in Oklahoma City, and at Howard Memorial Baptist in Del City. more . . .
Dan Mingo
Media Director & Music Associate
Dan is a missionary kid who was raised on the field of South Africa in a small town named Ladysmith in the province of Kwa-Zulu Natal. His family moved there when he was only 5 years old in 1986, and he moved back to the states when he went to attend college in 2000. Both of his parents came from broken homes that did not know the Lord, but through the Lord's grace they were saved and have raised three boys whom are serving the Lord faithfully in different churches. more . . .
Kevin Pruitt
Associate Pastor, Young Adults & Spiritual Growth
As Associate Pastor for Young Adults, Kevin is clearly passionate about young families, especially his own. As a husband and father of three young children, his life is truly full. After thirteen years of marriage to his wife Rebecca, Kevin reflects on their exceptionally early beginnings. Admitting he’s “no Casanova,” he shares, “I have known my wife since the 4th grade but it took me just over a decade to actually ask her out. Rebecca is yet another proof that God has been very, very kind to me. She is an unconditionally-loving wife and an incredibly caring mother.” more . . .
Billy Fuller
Collegiate & Student Ministries
As Billy focuses on the college ministries at Edmond’s First Baptist Church, his goal is to grow college students to be disciples, encouraging them to build long lasting relationships, and offering them opportunities to serve their community and have fun while doing it. While he was in college God took him from a timid, weak individual and through personal Bible Study, great relationships, and campus organizations, “He grew me into someone who could believe in Him and His plan for my life without fear. I now love God more than ever before because I understand Him more. He taught me “Nothing is impossible with God”. Billy’s goal is to see college students catching on to God’s vision for their lives in such a way that the local college campuses are drastically changed. more . . .
Charles Scheffe
Associate Pastor, Children's Ministry
Charles Scheffe is the new Associate Pastor of Children’s Ministry
at Edmond’s First Baptist Church. A native of Edmond, Charles grew up
in this community and graduated from Memorial High School, which he
calls the original. Throughout those years Charles was an active member
of Edmond’s First Baptist Church and after surrendering to the ministry
was licensed to preach the gospel by EFBC in 2004. more . . .
Pat Murphy
Director of Preschool Ministries
Pat . .
. first felt God’s call to ministry . . . at Falls Creek. She recalls,
“I felt God was calling me to a special work. As the Director of
Preschool Ministries, Pat knows the work she does is special. Her main
focus is “assisting families in finding a place to worship, serve, and
grow as Christians.” She hopes that our church will become a place for
families to connect and discover God’s plan for them. She prays that
she can help parents deliberately hide God’s word in the hearts of
their children and that Edmond’s First Baptist Church will become the
“hub” for children’s and preschool activities, keeping Christ as the
center of all that is done. more . . .
