College Semester Coming to a Close

Please take some time in the next few weeks and pray for EFBC’s college students as they prepare for and take finals. This is also a great time to reach out and encourage those students you have personally met and served with over this past year by sending cards, buying coffee, or just hugging necks. They may be gone over Christmas but they are still a vital part of the EFBC Family.

College Scholarship Applications

Spring Enrollment Notifications Due by Sunday, January 15, 2017

Each fall, Edmond’s First Baptist Church awards several scholarships to EFBC students. Students who received scholarship aid for the fall term do not need to complete another application, but they do need to email Paul Blankenship at, indicating they are continuing their education in the spring term. Confirmation emails must be received before January 15, 2017. Failure to respond before that date may result in delay or disqualification for scholarship assistance for the Spring Term. Edmond’s First Baptist Church College Ministry exists to help students deepen their relationship with Christ. We want to do this by providing opportunities for both worship and small group Bible study. We desire to see students grow in their faith while building relationships with other believers whose impact will last far beyond their college years.

Our college leadership team has a heart for students. We want to meet not only the spiritual needs of our students but also physical, emotional, and day to day needs as well. Most of all, we want to provide a solid foundation of scriptural truths, support and Godly encouragement for our students to stand on as they face the struggles and joys that college life brings. Whether our students are states away from family or simply blocks away, we want to be their home-away-from-home.

Whatever your reason – we’ll pick you up at 9:15 AM on Sunday mornings during the school year for Worship and Bible study and have you back at the dorms by 12:30 PM. Where do college students go?

All college aged students meet in Fellowship Hall. For more information please ask those at either of the Visitor Centers in the Worship Center Foyer and they will help guide you to our door.

What is Home Away from Home?

This is a ministry where we link up college students with families, many of these students are either very far away from their Parents for the first time or just need a little encouragement every once in awhile.

What we ask of the families that choose to join us in this project is simple. Keep in contact with your student, if you would like invite them over for a dinner (most of these students don't get home cooked meals for whole semesters) send them letters, find out what is going on in their classes, if you would like offer your house as a quiet study refuge.

This is a great opportunity to help students feel as though they are not alone.

If you are a retired family or a family of 10 pray about this ministry and how God can use you to make a difference in a students life.
