Make A Difference Week 2012 Update
Let no one despise your youth, instead set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. - 1 Timothy 4:12
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only deceiving yourselves. - James 1:22
Over Fall Break thirteen 6th graders not only heard these words but put them into practice. Here are a few comments from the places we served:
- “It was a delight having you here and I still cannot believe how you were able to be finished! Super fast workers! And I look forward to having you back next year.” - Tamara and the Team at Family Builders
- “This is fantastic, we should have your group here every night. Please plan to come back and help us again.” - Shelly at the Salvation Army
- “I have never seen a group who could have so much fun, and still accomplish so much.” - Veda at Feed the Children
Our 6th graders served with four different ministries in a little over 44 hours and impacted over 300 different families. That's making a difference!
What is Make A Difference Week?
The most important thing for a Christian to do is share the love of Christ. There are few better ways than by serving those who are hurting. Make-A-Difference Week is all about teaching and unleashing 6th grade to serve in our community. During Fall Break 2012 EFBC's 6th graders spent 2 nights and 2 days of learning and experiencing how together we can make a difference in the world around us.
