Preteen Family and Students Mission Trip
2017 Dates: Wednesday, October 19 – Sunday, October 22
Team Members: 32 Spots are available. The spots are first come, first serve. The first people to pay their deposit of $50, saves their spot (Your deposit is nonrefundable). A waiting list will be started after all spots are filled.
Team Member Requirements: Students must be in 5th through 8th grade. Families that participate must have a student in 5th, 6th and a 5th and 6th grader must have a parent join them to be eligible to participate. 7th and 8th graders do not have to have a parent join them, but are welcome to come as a sponsor.
Trip Purpose: We will be partnering with Charles Scheffe as he prepares to plant a church in Estrella, a community around Phoenix. We will be assisting Charles with his preview service that will launch in a local elementary school there in Estrella. Things we will be doing include canvasing neighborhoods, sharing the gospel thru personal testimony and building relationships with children/families in the area. We will also be reaching out to the community through 2 fall festival events. We want to help Charles tell his community about Jesus and help him build the church in Phoenix.
Cultural and Geographic Information: Estrella is a master-planned community located in the suburbs of Phoenix, Arizona. Currently, Estrella is home to more than 15,000 residents ranging from young couples to retirees. There is currently only 1 church in Estrella ministering to the large population and the community is growing with approximately 100 new move ins each month.
Transportation: Thursday: Flying Dallas to PHX (Leave EFBC for Dallas at 4:30am); Sunday: Flying PHX to OKC (Arrive back in OKC at 10pm/Parents pick up @ Will Rodgers World airport).
Lodging: Mountain Ridge Church. Staying in Class rooms around Gymnasium
Trip Cost and Information:
The cost of this trip is $365 per person. Trip fee includes: transportation, lodging and meals while in Phoenix, mission supplies.
