Maturing Adults Ministry

The Edmond First Baptist Church (EFBC) Maturing Adult, HappyTimers and Life+ Ministries are so much more than a senior adult ministry.  Many of us are retired, but just as many are still employed.  Within our groups there are quite a few grandparents, but we're not all there yet.  We've reached that age when we realize that age is just a number and no one number can define who we are or who we will one day be.  There are still so many challenges yet to face, and so many milestones we plan to achieve. 

If you are 50 years young or better, come join us for friendly Bible study classes, warm fellowship, and plenty of laughter.  As maturing adults we have learned to lean on one another in hard times and share the joy of good times with our family and friends.  We encourage you to join us as, together, we face all the good things God still has in store for each of us.

Where do I go?

The answer to this depends on which class you want to visit or attend. There are a number of classes for every age, learning style, and social interests. There are classes for singles, married folks, internationals, ladies and men.  If you are unsure where you'd like to start, stop by one of the Visitor Centers in the Worship Center Foyer and a Worship Center host will help you select a class that meets your individual needs. Once you select a class, you are encouraged to try several classes before settling down to learn and serve in just one. Each time you visit Edmond's First Baptist Church one of our Worship Center hosts will be glad to help you find your way to whatever class you would like to try. There is lot available, so take your time as you visit as many as appeal to you.

Life + Ministry

The Life+ Ministry is for adults who are 50 to 65 or those who have not retired.

Happytimers Ministry

Happytimers is a group of maturing adults (age 55 and up) who are very much in love with Jesus and who live to serve others throughout our community. They are happy people who love to spend time together. Happytimers are energized and revitalized!

I count it a privilege to be called a Happytimer. Our fellowship has grown numerically as well as spiritually through the years. We have shared many programs, trips, and experiences that have bound our hearts together.

As we continue to minister together, let us be encouraged that Christ is the reason for our fellowship. I want you to know that I feel that this year is going to be the best yet as we help one another enjoy God and experience peace and purpose in our lives. What a wonderful gift He has given to each one of us that we can call ourselves friends.

Age Groups

Happytimers is a group made up of fun-loving maturing adults (age 65 and better) who love to spend time together taking day trips, eating out, and serving others.

Where do I go?

Happytimers meet in the Fellowship Hall the last Thursday of each month except August (heat break) and meet the first Thursdays for November and December meetings.
