Elementary Ministry

Our children’s ministry provides foundational teaching for boys and girls throughout their elementary years. Spiritual growth continues as children study the Bible and participate in devotional activities Sunday morning, Sunday evening, Wednesday evening and special events held throughout the year.

Children grow in self-confidence as they formulate a sense of their worth under God. All children do not learn in the same ways, therefore the Bible studies and activities include methods to help meet the many learning styles of children today. Teachers are prepared to share Bible facts as children are involved with Bible related activities. Each child, the one who attends every Sunday, as well as the one who attends infrequently, will know that teachers are willing to take time to talk with them about personal matters.

Children will learn basic truths about God, Jesus Christ, salvation, and the Bible. Strong emphasis is placed on helping children grow in understanding who God is and His plan for individuals.

Schedule

Visit the Worship page for the current Sunday and Wednesday schedules.

Where do my kids go?

Parents of children are encouraged to bring their child to the second floor of the children’s wing where they will sign into their assigned classes. Parents will find a kiosk reception desk to assist them in locating the class for their child. All children’s classes, grades 1-5, meet on the second floor of the children’s wing.

CROSSwalk Store

The Crosswalk Store opens twice a month during the school year to allow children to use points earned through scripture memorization and service projects. The Crosswalk Store is stocked with child friendly objects that encourage children to work toward earning points that serve as a reward for their hard work.  The Crosswalk Store is located on the second floor of the Children's Wing in room C201.  It is open on designated days during which children can "shop" and "spend" points they have earned during the month.  Crosswalk points are accumulated September through May and all children will begin fresh each September with no points.

Volunteer Needs:  Adults are needed to staff the Crosswalk Store during times of operation once a month. All volunteers must complete an application that includes permission for a background check.

Knowing God

Children form concepts about God and Jesus from birth. Children develop at different rates, so the personal decision to follow Christ varies. John 16:7-13 tell us the Holy Spirit will convict us of our “sin, righteousness and judgment” and guide us “into all truth”. This Biblical truth applies to children as well as adults.

Leaders are trained to develop relationships of trust as they guide children into an understanding of who God is. Communication on the child’s level of understanding is a key element to helping a child make a decision to accept Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.

All ministries of the children’s area focus on introducing God through Bible study, mission emphasis, scripture memorization, and musical experiences.
