Dates: Sunday, March 18 - Saturday, March 24, 2018

Team Members: 25 students, 6 Sponsors, 6 Jr. Sponsors. The spots are first come, first serve. The First people to pay their deposit save their spot (Your Deposit is nonrefundable). A waiting list will be started after all spots are filled.

2018 Application Packet

Team Member Requirements: Students must be in 9th through 12th grade. A Junior sponsor is a college student age 18 through 21, and a Sponsor is an adult member of our church and a connection group.

Trip Purpose: We will be partnering with an organization called By The Hand which is a Christ-centered after-school program that takes kids by the hand and walks with them through college helping them have abundant life—mind, body and soul. We will help serve around their facility in service projects and in their after-school program. Student will have the opportunity to build relationship with children and share the gospel through Homework tutoring, bible study, and worshiping in chapel. We will also be looking at working with several Churches with cleanup of their facility (Painting, Mopping, Cleaning, etc.) and New City church which is a church plant in Wicker park that is going through a time of transition.

Cultural and Geographic Information: We will be serving in an urban setting mainly in the inner-city of Chicago as we partner with By the Hand. You can find more information about this organization at BY THE HAND. You should plan to bring modest clothes. Avoid anything revealing or tight fitting (No Leggings). You should dress for comfort not fashion. Wear comfortable shoes as you will be standing and walking a lot. Bring plenty of WARM clothing and be ready for Chicago Spring weather, which means temperatures ranging from 25° to 50°. We are staying at the Rockwell Community Center which is a newly renovated building that the Chicago Metro Baptist Association owns. We will be sleeping on the floor so students will need to bring air up mattresses, twin size, unless you are sharing with someone else.

Trip Cost and Meeting Information:
Trip fee includes: transportation, lodging and meals while in Chicago, mission supplies, and daily bottled water.

  • Adult Sponsor: $355

* Refunds will be given for cancellations 60 days prior to trip, minus transportation and deposit. Cancellations under 60 days will not receive a refund. See staff member for special circumstances.
