(2) BIBLE STUDIES which take place at different times and locations throughout the year.

1) Wednesday FORMATIONS Bible Studies

Classes meet on Wednesdays from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM in Room 115. There are activities for the entire family on Wednesday evenings. Visit FORMATIONS for more info.

Current Study: Seamless

Seamless: Understanding the Bible as One Complete Story by Angie Smith. Led by Kelly Gideon, Seamless covers the people, places, and promises of the Bible, tying them together into the greater story of Scripture. Join this class by August 21.

Me, Myself, and Lies by Jennifer Rothschild

Begins on Wednesday, October 9, led by Bible study leaders Michele Scheffe and Sena Whipple. Books are $15. A Bible study that encourages everyone to clean out the junk in their minds and replace hidden negative thoughts with positive truths from God's word. Words are powerful. Especially the words women speak to themselves. All too often, what they say to themselves when they lie in bed at night or look in the mirror in the morning is not even close to the words God wants them to speak to their souls. According to Rothschild, what we think about often has a ripple effect on nearly every area of our lives.

2) Bible Studies

Walking by Faith: Lessons Learned in the Dark
Begins Monday, September 9
By Jennifer Rothschild and led by Barbara Dooley. Meet Monday evenings, 6:30 PM – 7:45 PM, in Room 115 beginning on September 9. This study contrasts the evidences of walking by faith and walking by sight and encourages you to take risks, give God control, persevere through hardship, receive God’s gifts, be guided by the Truth rather than feelings, and seek God.

All Things New: A Study on 2 Corinthians
Begins Tuesday, September 10
By Kelly Minter and led by April Pratt. Meet Tuesday evenings, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM, at 2104 Faircloud Drive, Edmond 73034, beginning on September 10. Explore the anchoring truths of bearing treasures in jars of clay, meeting Christ through a pressing thorn, opening wide your heart in the midst of hurtful relationships, and what it means to embrace the lost and lonely as ministers of the new covenant.

Description:

The city of ancient Corinth was much like our own modern-day cities: a melting pot of electrifying cultural experiences to be had, along with the myriad pitfalls of spiritual depravity. Still, Paul wrote to the Church of God in Corinth - meaning God's Church is meant to thrive in any city and every circumstance in which we find ourselves. Paul's letter is as timely as ever.

This Bible study will lead you through the Letter of 2 Corinthians, exploring the anchoring truths of bearing treasures in jars of clay, meeting Christ through a pressing thorn, opening wide your heart in the midst of hurtful relationships, and what it means to embrace the lost and lonely as ministers of the new covenant. Each of us has a message to proclaim and live by: Because of Jesus the old has gone, the new has come.
