Connection Groups

EFBC’s Connection Groups (Sunday School) strive to help students be more deeply connected to God and each other. These small groups meet Sundays in the Student Life Center from 11:00 AM to Noon. Through prayer and Bible study students experience God together in community. Connection Groups are a place for students to ask questions about the Bible, life, and to find support through prayer and God’s Word for their needs.

Wednesday Evening "Endurance"

Students meet in the Student Life Center on Wednesdays from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM for worship music, Bible study, and activities. 7th – 12th grades can come “hangout” early (at 5:30 PM) for snacks and sodas. Endurance is based on James 1:2-4 which is:

“Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 But endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.”

Middle School Phoenix Mission Trip
Held over Fall Break 2017, 7th and 8th grade students worked with church planter, Charles Scheffe, at The Church at Estrella in Arizona. They were involved in prayer walking, surveying, a fall festival, and any other needs The Church at Estrella has.

High School Chicago Mission Trip
Over Spring Break, EFBC’s high school students serve in Chicago. They serve at two different after school programs, By the Hand and Blue Line. By the Hand is a non-profit organization that works with elementary children to help bring their reading scores up along, work on homework, and teach them spiritual truth. Blue Line is an after-school program run by New City Church where students can work on homework and learn spiritual truth.

Ice Bowl

Held in February each year on Super Bowl Sunday, this annual 7-on-7 flag football tournament is for 7th – 12th grade students following Connection Groups. Teams sign up and lunch is provided.

Ignition Weekend

Held in February each year, Ignition Weekend is designed to give students an opportunity to grow, worship, and serve. Families within the church provide homes and transportation for students throughout the weekend. The Host homes are a great place for students to hang out and get into God’s word through small groups led by young adult leaders. Students will gather together in a large group for worship with powerful music and in-depth teaching of God’s word. Students will also have a chance to participate in breakout session on relevant topics and issues effective them in school. Ignition Weekend is a great opportunity for students to rekindle and ignite their passion for Christ as they begin a new year.

Falls Creek Summer Camp

EFBC attends this life changing summer camp in June/July each year. Falls Creek is a Baptist General Convention (BGCO) owned and operated summer youth camp located in the beautiful Arbuckle Mountains in Davis, Oklahoma. Each week during the summer they host over 6,000 students and sponsors on the campgrounds. Falls Creek hosts upwards of 54,000 guests! This is a great experience that has been happening each summer since 1917. Our God is great and He is still faithfully transforming lives at this grand encampment!

Summer Activities

The Student Ministry plans special activities over the summers to keep students connected. Along with our Connection Groups, Endurance Wednesday Nights, Falls Creek; we have summer activities such as Wednesday Summer Games, Bible Study, Book Clubs, Basketball with Randy, and others.

Welcome Weekend

Welcome Weekend at Edmond’s First Baptist Church is a great time of worship, fellowship, and fun. As the new school year approaches, we see a lot of new faces around the Student Ministry and see a lot of friends returning from family vacations so we have designed Welcome Weekend to bring us together as we kick off the new school year.

Don’t miss out on a great time of hanging out with friends and connecting to the church! We welcome all incoming 7th through 12th grade students to be a part of Welcome Weekend.

On the Sunday of Welcome Weekend, 7th graders and their families have a lunch to introduce them to EFBC’s Student Ministry followed by a special activity for 7th graders to connect with Randy Faram, Associate Pastor, Student Ministries; student leaders, and other students.

Student Leadership Team

A “New Year” kicks off each fall. The Student Leadership Team is open to all students, 7th through 12th grade, who are interested in going deeper as a disciple and serving in EFBC’s Student Ministry. Our purpose when we meet is to study God’s word, sharpen each other, fellowship, and prepare for activities that are coming up in the Student Ministry. Students will earn leadership points as they serve. Leadership points are required for students to go to Super Summer the following summer. LEARN MORE
